FAIL: BSA loses 163,000 members adding girls

A number cruncher at scouter.com ran the numbers.

BSA Inc’s 2018 membership dropped 6% from 2017. They predicted a 2% gain.

SIX PERCENT. THAT IS DRAMATIC. CEO SHOUILD BE TERMINATED, HIS PAY CLAWED BACK. The board of directors should be charged with malfeasance.

Unsexed boy scouting is a failure. It’s not like anyone could see it coming. Who knew?

“SCOUT BOYS OUT” still on April 2019

It’s past Easter and the BSA Inc still works to “SCOUT BOYS OUT.”

Listen up, fathers of America: BSA Inc is not your Boy Scouts. They hate you. They hate B-P. They hate boys. They hate men.

They would like your cash, if only to pay CEO Surbaugh’s $2,000,000 annual compensation. Bear in mind wages and salary are only a portion of Surbaugh’s total compensation package!

Boy Scouts Are Just Scouts Now, and That’s Making Girl Scouts Mad

As usual, no one gives a damn that boys’ literal identity was appropriated from them. Strike that – expropriated in the name of communism.

From Bloomberg:

Boy Scouts Are Just Scouts Now, and That’s Making Girl Scouts Mad

The 100-year-old organizations are prepared to take their battle over self-identity to court.

One evening in early February, in the back room of a small Lutheran church in Blacksburg, Va., seven girls joined the Boy Scouts. They stood in front of an American flag, wearing the same khaki shirts and bandanna neckties as the 19 boys there with them. Together they recited the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the traditional Boy Scout oath. As historic moments go, it was a quiet one.

Over the next hour, members of Blacksburg’s Troop 158 discussed a coming campout and held a physical fitness challenge that amounted to running a few laps around the church parking lot. The girls demonstrated the sled they intended to use in a multitroop race, while some boys debated whether an assault rifle would make a good weapon during a zombie apocalypse. (The consensus was yes.) “I like Boy Scouts so far,” said Amalie, who’s 13, when the meeting was over. “Sorry, I mean Scouts. We’re supposed to say the new name now.”

A week earlier, the Boy Scouts of America—the national organization that oversees various outdoors programs for about 2 million children, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing—had changed the name of its original, 109-year-old program to Scouts BSA. That made Amalie one of its first girl scouts. Not to be confused, of course, with the Girl Scouts—though Amalie said she’s one of those, too.

The process by which a male-only centenarian institution transforms itself into an inclusive, co-ed brand would be complicated under any circumstances, but for the Scouts it’s been doubly so. For decades—in fact, as recently as 2015—the organization had argued, in interviews and in court, that scouting was only for boys. And a lot of people associated with the Boy Scouts still agree with that.

“ ‘This is crazy! This is what’s wrong with America! Girls in the Boy Scouts? I mean for crying out loud!’ ” says Michael Surbaugh, the group’s chief scout executive, imitating angry emails and tweets he’s received. Conservative news outlets have run articles with headlines such as “The Boy Scouts Admit Girls, Failure” (Weekly Standard) and “Girls in Boy Scouts Is Bad for Everyone” (Washington Examiner). But strangely, the fieriest reaction has come from the group most famous for supporting young girls: Girl Scouts of the United States of America.

Boys and Girls are different. “As leaders of boys in schools, homeschools, churches, and youth organizations, we must recognize and affirm their unique strengths and challenges. We are positioned to instill the principles and character traits that can prepare boys to become courageous, successful, focused men. But will we?” How can we successfully engage and disciple boys? If your attempts look anything like a typical classroom or Sunday school class, you are fighting a losing battle. Boys aren’t defective, they are different and to engage and disciple them effectively, we must Let Boys be Boys!

Discover three winning strategies from Counselor and Author Mark T. Hancock to engage and guide the next generation of young men to honor God, lead with integrity, and serve others.

Wall Street’s New Rule Is ‘Avoid Women At All Cost’

It’s amazing how “empowered women” seamlessly transition into “damsels in distress” whenever it suits them.

#MeToo Backfires: Wall Street’s New Rule Is ‘Avoid Women At All Cost’

No one could have predicted this!
From Bloomberg:

No more dinners with female colleagues. Don’t sit next to them on flights. Book hotel rooms on different floors. Avoid one-on-one meetings.

In fact, as a wealth adviser put it, just hiring a woman these days is “an unknown risk.” What if she took something he said the wrong way?

Across Wall Street, men are adopting controversial strategies for the #MeToo era and, in the process, making life even harder for women.

Just ignore the fact #MeToo made life infinitely harder for men.

Call it the Pence Effect, after U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who has said he avoids dining alone with any woman other than his wife. In finance, the overarching impact can be, in essence, gender segregation.

Interviews with more than 30 senior executives suggest many are spooked by #MeToo and struggling to cope. “It’s creating a sense of walking on eggshells,” said David Bahnsen, a former managing director at Morgan Stanley who’s now an independent adviser overseeing more than $1.5 billion.

Many are also having their lives destroyed due to false accusations.

Now, more than a year into the #MeToo movement — with its devastating revelations of harassment and abuse in Hollywood, Silicon Valley and beyond — Wall Street risks becoming more of a boy’s club, rather than less of one.

“Women are grasping for ideas on how to deal with it, because it is affecting our careers,” said Karen Elinski, president of the Financial Women’s Association and a senior vice president at Wells Fargo & Co. “It’s a real loss.”

Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps!

There’s a danger, too, for companies that fail to squash the isolating backlash and don’t take steps to have top managers be open about the issue and make it safe for everyone to discuss it, said Stephen Zweig, an employment attorney with FordHarrison.

“If men avoid working or traveling with women alone, or stop mentoring women for fear of being accused of sexual harassment,” he said, “those men are going to back out of a sexual harassment complaint and right into a sex discrimination complaint.”

This is the ridiculous situation we now find ourselves in.

Being accused of sexual discrimination is nothing compared to being falsely accused of rape, so don’t expect this trend to reverse.

#MeToo consequences: Wall Street purging women to avoid being accused of inappropriate behavior

This is already happening to the boy scout movement. It will get much worse.

#MeToo consequences: Wall Street purging women to avoid being accused of inappropriate behavior

One misunderstanding is all it takes for a man’s career and potentially his life, to be flushed down the drain. There is no arguing that, especially when the overwhelming message from the left-wing is that all men are guilty. And even if they are proven innocent, they are still guilty. After a rape or assault accusation, a man’s innocence can be only the product of misogyny — at least, according to the radical Left. The immense media scrutiny of Brett Kavanaugh is surely evidence of that.

#MeToo movement is toxic

Now, the liberal media is shaming men for being overly cautious in their interactions with women. What, exactly, did they think would happen? The #MeToo movement has put any and all “questionable” interactions between men and women on display and open to public criticism. More, the #MeToo movement suggests that all men are inherently guilty, and that no woman would ever lie about an assault.

It is no wonder that men are now being more cautious around women: One wrong move, and their lives are totally over. The Left has consistently sent the message that women must be believed under any and all circumstances — even after it turns out some of these “victims” are lying.

No one is saying rape and assaults never happen. But the presumption being pushed by #MeToo and similar ideologies is that all men are guilty. To even debate a man’s innocence in the implication of a rape or assault, is now considered “unacceptable.” It makes you a “rape apologist” or a “misogynist” if you even dare to suggest that a man is not guilty — even with hard evidence to support his innocence. Again, the plight Brett Kavanaugh comes to mind: Every “witness” named by his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, has said that the incident she described never happened — and yet, liberals are coming out of the woodwork to show their “support” for Ford.

One Democrat senator, Mazie Hirono, has even stated Kavanaugh “doesn’t have the same presumption of innocence as anyone else because of his ideology,” and that he is “more likely to be guilty because he’s a conservative,” according to a report from National Review. How’s that for equality?
